A group of 2O employees from different sections working within the Planning Authority spent a full day carrying out voluntary work at Id-Dar tal-Providenza in Siggiewi.

The employees carried out various tasks such as general cleaning, laundry work, washing cars, and food preparation. The Authority also donated the sum of €3000 to support id-Dar tal-Providenza in its sterling work with a person with a severe disability. The donation was collected from a fundraising event. The Authority's Flimkien Fund Committee organized this initiative with the support of the Management as part of PA’s corporate social responsibility programme.

Id-Dar tal-Providenza is made up of three residences: Villa Monsinjur Gonzi, Villa Papa Giovanni, and Villa Papa Luciani. It also includes four community homes, called Zerniq in Siggiewi, Akkwarell in Qawra, Dar Pirotta in Birkirkara and Shalom in Zurrieq.

At the moment, Id-Dar tal-Providenza hosts approximately hundred and fifteen persons between the ages of fourteen and over eighty years. It also offers respite services on a regular basis for the families of persons with a disability.
