DON'T USE ILLEGAL BILLBOARDS. IT MAY BE COSTLY

July, 05, 2019

Billboards are a good way of promoting your products, services, activities or organization. But just be aware, that prior to entering into any contractual obligations with the owner of a billboard, or the owner/occupier of the land on which it is installed, it is in your interest to check and ensure that the billboard is covered by the necessary permissions from the Planning Authority.

When an enforcement notice is issued against an illegal billboard and it is not removed, the Authority has the right to remove the billboard itself.

If the advertisement is referring to your products, services, activities or organization, you will automatically become liable for the expenses the Authority incurs for its removal.

These obligations are outlined in the Billboards and Advertisements Regulations.
